COVID UPDATE We are currently planning to conduct the Margaret River Ultra Marathon on our rescheduled date of 17 October If the WA.

But according to the recently released report the State of Ultrarunning , women are actually outperforming men at long distances. Paul Ronto, s taff writer at Fort Collins-based RunRepeat , a website that reviews athletic shoes, confirmed this reality while compiling data for the report, which looks at more than 15, ultra races—defined as distances longer than a marathon—and 5,, race results between and With such an immense pile of information, Ronto and his partner in this project, Ivanka Nikolova, were able to make a number of fascinating observations about this rapidly expanding sport.
While differences in performances based on gender is one of the more monumental insights, Ronto insists that the data can be interpreted many ways. And yet, many recent female race-winners and record-breakers in ultra races in running, biking, and swimming earn their livings elsewhere.

I get out of my Uber at Lansdowne Street, looking fly, and take a look around. There he is. His lanky body hunched against a wall, beer in hand. He looks like a typical Boston guy: dark jeans, Patagonia jacket, backwards Sox hat, oh, and completely wasted. How is this supposedly talented and very fast marathoner already drunk at noon?
More importantly, how the hell am I going to sit through a freaking baseball game with this guy? He hands the phone to me, almost dropping it, and I ask him to unlock it, which is quite a struggle.

The Dallas Marathon is a nonprofit organization with a focus on promoting health and physical fitness through running events and related activities. Hundreds of thousands of spectators join in BMW Dallas Marathon Day — the second Sunday of December — lining the streets and neighborhoods to cheer on participants in a race that is recognized as the official marathon of the City of Dallas. Elite runners are requested to complete the following document.
Note, final selection is based upon a number of factors, including finishing times, and is at the sole discretion of the BMW Dallas Marathon. In addition, guidelines for participants in wheelchairs state that all chairs must be equipped with brakes and participants must wear helmets. The Race Director, in his sole discretion, may refuse entry to the course for any wheelchair participant who does not have wheelchairs, brakes or head protection acceptable to the Race Director.

The race will be run on a 2 mile loop alongside orchards and vineyards, with open pastures and oak covered trails. You will have 8 hours to complete as many loops as you can while enjoying the park’s idyllic setting. Where all runners turn around at the top of Purisima Creek Road, and just across Skyline Boulevard is the site where the long forgotten Brow House once stood.
Sadly you won’t get much rest here on your 50k journey through the Purisima Creek Redwoods but we will offer you some much needed aid and hydration to get you through the next 26 miles of this grueling 50K.
